Last weekend we took Tristan to the Louisville ZOO for the World's Largest Halloween Party! It was OK, but we were hoping to see more animals! Tristan loved it, though, and had a great time getting to walk around and see everything. And I can't tell you how many times I heard, "What a cute little cow!! That's the cutest costume I've seen!" (Tristan LOVES cows!) She got a few pieces of candy in her pumpkin, although the only ones she cares about are suckers!!! Here's our pictures from the big event:

Birthday Girl
We celebrated Tristan's 1st birthday this past Thursday! It's hard to believe she is already one! Everyone tells you before you have kids how fast they grow up, but you can't conceive how true it is until you have a child of your own!!
We had a great day with her. Her daddy slept in and got her out of bed. He was the first to sing "Happy Birthday" to her (she had many more phone calls with songs throughout the day!). We let her open her gifts as soon as she got out of bed. Thanks Aunt Annie, Uncle Ashley, Aunt Sara, Uncle Joe, cousin Anna, Katheren the Great, and Aubert the Great for the gifts. As you can see, she loved them all!
We ended the day with her first cake. She liked it, but wasn't just extremely crazy about it. She ate a couple bites, played in the icing, and then was done. We will be having her birthday party this next weekend, so she'll get to try it again.
Our baby girl is 1 !!! Amazing!! Thank you, God, for all you've given us!!!

Snow Day
We had lots of snow this past Saturday, probably 5 inches or so (not quite as much as Nathan and Vicki or Annie and Ashley though!). It was our best snow of the winter (or maybe spring now!). You can see we got Tristan out in it for the first time. She wasn't that crazy about it. She is a water girl, and I think will prefer the summer and the pool!!!! We didn't really have a snow coat her size for her to wear, so I got out her one for next year. As you can see it's a little big, coming down past her knees with the snow coming up to her knees! Funny and cute!!
